Liquitex Basics Modeling Paste is a thick acrylic putty with which you create textured surfaces and build stable 3D forms. Applied with a spatula, palette knife, or brush, it can be modeled, shaped with combs, or applied in layers – the paste keeps its shape and dries to a robust, paintable surface.
Which surfaces are suitable?
The paste is designed for rigid supports: painting boards, wood, panels, and primed canvases on stretcher bars. Heavy application on flexible materials like paper can crack – for flexible grounds, Liquitex recommends the appropriate flexible pastes. Once dry, the surface can be painted over with acrylics, sanded, and further worked.
How does the paste fit into the Basics system?
